Paul Walker’s beloved character from The Fast and the Furious franchise will return in the upcoming tenth film.

Last week, the eagerly anticipated trailer for Fast X was released, and fans are more excited than ever – Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and more will appear. The trailer also teased the return of Walker’s Brian O’Conner. The late actor sadly died in a car crash in 2013 and last appeared posthumously in the 2013 sequel Fast and Furious 6.

Ahead of this year’s Fast X release, director Louis Leterrier has shared his approach to Brian’s involvement in the new film, clarifying that he’s being brought to life in the Fast and Furious franchise. Walker’s real-life brothers served as body doubles.

Leterrier said that the Walker family remained a part of the franchise, and shared that it was decided that we would see Brian “in the past.” You’ll see Brian in the past, you won’t see him in the present. It’s something everyone has to agree with. The Walker family is still very much a part of the franchise, and you’ll see that in this film. It just has to be the right moment and the right angle.

Jason Momoa and Brie Larson will make their series debuts in the upcoming film. The Aquaman star will play the role of a villain named Dante, whose mode of transportation is a motorcycle.

“New allies will emerge and old enemies will reappear. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own eight-year-old son is the ultimate target of Dante’s revenge.” Fast X is set to kick off the two-part finale to the long-running series, with the characters in the trailer noting that “the end of the road” is about to begin. Fast X is scheduled to premiere on May 19, 2023.
