On the German North Sea island of Wangerooge, a unique opportunity has arisen for those who want a job with a touch of adventure and a beautiful view. The island is looking for a new lighthouse keeper and is offering tempting benefits that include a comfortable job and a starting salary of 2,500 euros per month, which is about 62,250 CZK.

One of the most significant benefits of this position is the fantastic view of the surrounding sea and landscape from the lighthouse. This island is known for its beautiful nature and peaceful atmosphere, which makes the job of lighthouse keeper an even more appealing choice.

The lighthouse keeper’s main task will be to look after the lighthouse, which today no longer serves only as a navigation point, but also as a museum and a popular venue for wedding ceremonies. This includes ticket sales, visitor entry, souvenir sales and basic cleaning. The ideal candidate should also have the ability to perform minor repairs or maintenance on the lighthouse, which would be a big plus.

One of the key requirements for the job is good physical condition, as the keeper will have to climb hundreds of steps every day to reach the tower, which was built in 1856. Although there is no housing option in the lighthouse, the island’s administration promises to help find suitable housing.

The salary for this position is based on the collective agreement of public sector workers and can reach up to €2,500 per month, which is certainly an enticing offer for many people interested in this job. Wangerooge is one of the few lighthouses that is still staffed, as most lighthouses on the German coast no longer need a permanent keeper thanks to remote control and modern technology.
