Memphis Grizzlies starting point guard Ja Morant will miss at least the next two games. His Instagram post in which he showed a gun early Saturday morning at a nightclub sparked an investigation by the NBA.

The Grizzlies announced Saturday afternoon that Morant “will be out for at least the next two games. We are aware of the social media post regarding Ja Morant and are investigating,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass said in a statement Saturday.

Morant made the Instagram post hours after the Grizzlies’ 113-97 loss to the Denver Nuggets. The All-Star point guard, who was shirtless and rapping, was holding a gun with his left hand. Morant deactivated his Instagram and Twitter accounts Saturday afternoon. In a statement, Morant said he “takes full responsibility for his actions yesterday.”

“I apologize to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire organization for letting you down,” the statement read. “I will take some time off to seek help and work on learning better methods to manage stress and my overall well-being.”

Nike, which has a shoe line signed with Morant, backed the Grizzlies star in a statement released Saturday night. “We appreciate Jaa’s responsibility and the fact that he is taking the time to get the help he needs. We support him in making his well-being a priority.”
