Hermés has started selling the world’s most expensive AirPods case
Regular readers of LsA will know that from time to time we like to take a look at news from some of the famous fashion houses related to technological gadgets. However, what I discovered the last time I made a purchase at Hermés shocked even me, a person who has written about iPhone or AirPods cases for sums exceeding the price of the product itself. In fact, Hermés has introduced a new line of AirPods cases that is priced at €750. In fact, most fashion houses such as Gucci, LV, Valentino and Bottega Veneta are half the price of AirPods cases.
As noted by WatchGeneration, the new case is made of Swift calfskin and is available in five different colors: Gold, Navy Blue, Cricket Green, Pink Azalea, and Linen Blue. It has a unique Hermès-style design and protects the entire AirPods case, with a cutout for the Lightning port and another for the LED charging indicator.
Hermés is simply not afraid of this and has no problem asking €750 for an AirPods case that protects the headphones, which are a third of the price. Moreover, when you consider that the price of a Birkin, or Kelly, ranges from €8,000 to €12,000 for the regular models, and its resale price is then double or triple that, with it still increasing dramatically year on year, it is much more interesting to sign up for the waiting list for a Birkin, wait a few years, and then have something that has real value, because the AirPods case is definitely not it.
