OpenAI vs. Elon Musk in the clash of artificial intelligence

OpenAI, the maker of the ChatGPT chat system, has opposed a lawsuit by Elon Musk, who claims the company has abandoned its original purpose. According to the company’s co-founders, including CEO Sam Altman, Musk sought to take control of OpenAI and sought a directorship. They also claim that Musk initiated a campaign to merge OpenAI with Tesla in 2018, as evidenced by emails from that time.

Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI last week, accusing it of abandoning its original path of developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity, not for profit, and that Microsoft, the main investor, is now profiting from the changes, which he alleges is a gross violation of the original founders’ agreement.

The other founders of OpenAI have announced that they are defending Musk’s lawsuit, expressing disappointment that their once-admired colleague has resorted to litigation after making significant progress. ChatGPT has become the fastest-growing software application in the world, prompting the emergence of competing chatbots from Microsoft, Alphabet and other companies.

ChatGPT is capable of understanding text and generating appropriate outputs based on the inputs, making it suitable for a variety of purposes, including answering questions, providing information, creating texts, and other applications. Because of its capabilities, many companies are already using ChatGPT for a wide range of tasks, such as summarizing documents or writing computer code.
