Water drone conquers the market: over two million dollars in crowdfunding

A new hit has appeared on the technology scene – the HoverAir Aqua, a water drone that can fly and move on the water. This revolutionary device has brought the world of drones and water sports together and has instantly gained huge attention. During a crowdfunding campaign, the creators managed to raise more than 43 million crowns, despite initially asking for only a fraction of that amount.

The HoverAir Aqua was first unveiled at IFA 2025 in Berlin, where it earned the attention of experts and the general public. The main advantage of this drone is its ability to take off and land on the water surface. In the event of a capsize, it can automatically turn back around and resume flight. This technology makes it an ideal tool for surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding or other water activities.

The drone is equipped with a millimeter wave radar that allows it to stay just above the surface – about five centimeters – to capture incredibly smooth footage. Its camera can shoot 4K video at 100 frames per second, which also makes it a professional tool for content creators.

Another bonus is its light weight – less than 249 grams, which means it doesn’t have to register or be subject to strict aviation regulations in most countries. This makes it suitable for the general public and novice enthusiasts alike.

A campaign to promote the production attracted over 1,700 contributors who could purchase the drone for a price of around $999 (roughly 21,000 CZK). The manufacturer has promised that the first units will be delivered to customers before Christmas this year.

HoverAir Aqua is an example of how quickly an innovative idea can turn into a global trend. The combination of modern technology, compact design and practicality creates a product that appeals to amateurs and professionals alike.

The success of the campaign also shows that people are increasingly investing in unique and clever gadgets that bring a new experience. If the manufacturer delivers on all its promises and the drone holds up in real-world conditions, it could become the founder of a whole new category – water drones. HoverAir Aqua is thus not just a technological curiosity, but a symbol that even a small idea can change an entire market segment. And if it is successful in commercial sales, it will have a bright future.
