Unusual bonuses in China: employees took cash directly from tables
A company in China has attracted global attention after rewarding its employees in an extraordinary way. Instead of transferring bonuses to bank accounts, the company’s owner chose a far more dramatic approach—he placed large amounts of cash on tables and allowed workers to take what they wanted.

Thousands of employees gathered in a large hall, where they were met with tables covered in stacks of banknotes. In total, the company distributed around 60 million yuan, which is roughly $8–9 million (about 180 million CZK).
The company operates in the industrial sector, specializing in crane manufacturing and equipment rental. Its founder reportedly wanted to reward employees for their hard work while also creating a memorable and motivating experience.
Videos shared on social media show employees collecting cash directly from the tables, counting banknotes, and placing them into bags. Although the concept might seem chaotic at first glance, the process was partially organized through rules and activities to ensure fairness and prevent disorder.
According to the company’s leadership, the decision to use physical cash was intentional. The owner believes that holding money in hand creates a stronger emotional impact than receiving a digital bank transfer. In his view, this method makes the reward feel more tangible and meaningful for employees.
He also pointed out that many workers today face financial pressures such as loans or housing costs, and direct cash bonuses can provide immediate support. The company aims not only to pay salaries but also to actively contribute to employees’ financial well-being.
This is not the first time the company has taken a generous approach to employee rewards. In previous years, it has offered valuable gifts and significant bonuses, building a reputation as an employer willing to share its success with its workforce.
Public reactions to the event have been largely positive. On social media, many users described the company as a “dream employer,” praising its unconventional and generous approach. Some commentators also noted that such gestures can strengthen employee loyalty and motivation more effectively than traditional bonus systems.
